Women Friendly Cities Shared Their Experiences

The Programme Review Meeting of Women Friendly Cities was held in Ankara Hilton Hotel on 3 December.
The Deputy Governors, Deputy Mayors, Secretary General and Consultants of Mayors, Equality Unit focal points, Heads of Equality Commission, NGO representatives of 12 project cities and Women Friendly Cities Programme team evaluated the programme under three main topics during the meeting.
The success stories and problems were discussed and future road maps were developed in the areas of Local Equality Mechanisms and Legislation in cities, Local Equality Action Plans and Monitoring, Civil Society – Public Partnership during the programme review meeting where Prof. Dr. Yıldız Ecevit, Ms Feray Salman and Ms Zeliha Ünaldı were the moderators.
The meeting was closed with the closing remarks of Ms Zeynep Başarankut Kan, Assistant Representative of United Nations Population Fund, Ms Matilda Dimovska, Assistant Representative of United Nations Development Programme, Ms Annika Palo, Counsellor of Embassy of Sweden and Mr Süleyman Elban, the Deputy Director General of Local Administrations of Ministry of Interior.
